I am very pleased with my new cooktop. My old one was also a GE but was 23 years old. Can™™t complain about the quality do hopefully this new model will last. Love having the quick boil for my afternoon tea

The cooktop is exactly as described. Very easy to install and is very sturdy. The unit heats very quickly and has many options for heating small or larger pots or pans. Rapid heat is rapid. The knobs are not flimsy and can be removed for cleaning.

I'm very happy with the heating element configurations . My pots and pans fit perfectly, no matter if they are large or small. The surface wipes up nicely and looks as good as new. The knob controls are placed where I like them and easy to use. I didn't do the installation, but it was installed quickly and without a hitch.

Works well overall now. However, when I first got it, two of the burners did not work properly. And, the area around the knobs always looks dirty. It is a nuisance.

Not only a beautiful, clean fit in our countertop but happy to have five heating elements with two having options to fit bigger pots and pans. A nice safety feature being that we have little grandchildren is the lock and unlock switch. This keeps the stove from accidentally being turned on.

Great cooktop. Heats quickly and the power boil burner is nice to have when needed. Also like the melt option and keep warm options on two burners. Much, much nicer than the old Frigidaire cooktop.

This is my first ceramic cooktop, though I have experience using one at my son's house. Our 30-year old ring-burner cooktop finally needed to be replaced, and we settled on this GE model because of its features and good reviews. We are not disappointed. It makes a beautiful appearance in the kitchen. The control knobs are easy to grab, have nice hand feel (that does make a difference when you do a lot of cooking). And we do cook a lot, so appreciate the responsive burners. The cooktop does retain heat for some time, so you need to plan temperature changes in the cooking in advance; that will take some getting used to, but after several weeks I'm already getting the hang of it. Layout is well designed, it cuts a slim profile and looks very attractive on the kitchen counter. This model probably was once in GE's higher end "Profile" series: although there is no Profile mark on the stove or in on-line descriptions, the specs of burners and cooktop layout are identical to Profile models (except see my point #3 below), and the printed literature that came with this cooktop is all labeled Profile.
Only three negatives (so I knocked off a star), two of which are intrinsic to all ceramic cooktops (in case you don't have one). First is one you probably know: ceramic cooktops are more difficult to clean than earlier model types. I've already experimented a bit. The home brew vinegar and baking soda you'll find on line are not very effective. The best thing seems to be soapy water with abrasives designed for ceramic cooktop use. I bought the one GE recommends, Cerama Bryte cleaning pads, and have also used the similar supermarket scrubbing sponges (be gentle). An early careless spill required judicious use of a razor blade window scraper with a fresh blade. All of these methods produced good results. Final polishing with a soft microfiber cloth really shines it up nicely; I'm keeping a clean one dedicated just to cooktop use. It does take more time than traditional stoves, but of course the result is much better looking in the kitchen than the old gas and electric cooktops, handsome even.
Second issue: like induction cooktops you need cooking utensils with absolutely flat bottoms for best results (Farberware stainless steel is consistently good in that respect). We have already started to replace some old slightly warped Revere Ware (which worked fine on the old ring top stoves); this will add to the cost (but of course then we'll have newer, fancier utensils). Third and finally: I would have liked to have the linked left side burners, but also wanted knob rather than computer controls (easier to work with and less to require an expensive repair). However, GE discontinued the higher end models with that combination (i.e., if you want linked burners, you have to buy a touch control unit), so we were forced to choose and went for the knob controls. At least that considerably reduced the cost.
So overall we're very happy and look forward to years of cooking with this cooktop.

I like it fine but we have had a couple of problems with it, which has been a real hassle to go through the manufacturers warranty. Communication is so hard. I set down at Lowe™™s for two hours while staff members got on the phone and tried to communicate with the manufacturer.

I'm so excited about my new 5 burner flat top stove top by General Electric. This stove looks sleek & the 5 burner top is a game changer! I'm gonna have so much extra space thanks to this stove top. Five burners is super nice too as I've only ever had 4 maximum when it came to the top & having more than four foods stovetop at one time. General Electric has always been a trusted brand & will continue to be in my home.

The cooktop heats up very quickly, there are functions "keep warm" and "power boil" which are necessary and very convenient during cooking, the burners fit different sizes of pans, two of them have heating extensions, there are five of them and they are ideally located so as not to interfere with each other. In terms of care, it is very convenient, various dirt and grease are removed perfectly and quickly, just wipe it with a cloth with warm water just after cooking! What can I say, I am satisfied with this cooktop! I liked the size, I have a big family and I cook a lot every day, I like that all the pots and pans fit on it and I don™™t have to remove anything from the panel, I™™m happy! Very worthy model, powerful, clear management, trustful brand, qualitative, and beautiful design. I was very satisfied, now cooking takes much less time!

I am loving my GE 36" built-in knob control electric cooktop. We are remodeling and decided to go with a cooktop instead of a stove with an oven underneath. I am in love. It looks great! The installers were very professional and took time to make sure we understood how it works. The burners heat up quickly. I love how it is flat and I can use it for extra counter space if needed when not in use. Would definitely recommend!
