Cheap Plastic Junk

I purchased this item because the previous model for this built-in had a trim kit that cost 3/4 of the price of the item and could be reused. That microwave was very lightly used less than 3 yrs before the cheap plastic door button broke and there is no replacement. This unit has the same button so I expect it to break very soon as well. its impossible for anything that cheap to last as long as the working parts of the junk. Your website to register is designed to discourage warranty registration with its create account obstacle. GE has sunk to the bottom as far as I am concerned. From now on I plan to buy any product before a GE product and tell all my friends to do the same.

Only Lasts a Year

Died after one year and four months. Called the local GE appliance store that procured and installed it. They said it needed to be replaced and that it was not fixable. Warranty was only for one year. I do not recommend a microwave that only lasts one year.

Newly-built home. Microwave looks great, great size, etc. But whenever we try to select a precise time for cooking and enter it and hit Start, we get a message saying "Food". Doesn't seem to happen when selecting a time under one minute, but anything over that, we get the "Food" digital display. ?? What are we doing wrong?

Turn Table Died in 2 days

We had the previous non-wifi model and it always had a problem with the turn table mechanism being very loud and annoying, but it continued to work after several years. We replaced with this current model, and the turn table started making the same sound after a day, then died on day two.

This product has been a disaster from the start and trying to get it fixed has been even worse. I purchased it about five months ago and the door would not open properly. They could not find the parts for it and now that they have the parts setting up an appointment involves being run through the robot phone tree for 10 minutes before getting someone whose English skills are minimal.

Broken Door Latch problem - Many similarincidences

My microwave broke twice for Door Latch. I replaced with a new Profile microwave and that also broke for the Door Latch issue. I have been seeing similar complains from many of the homeowners (Lennar Innovation, Fremont, CA) who have the same GE Profile microwave. One of the worst product that GE has manufactured!

Very nice and powerful microwave. The only thing I don't like is that to open the door after use, you havet hit a cancel button to unlock it. I love the vegetable feature- it perfectly heats my veggies , whether they're frozen or fresh.

Simple set up, but arrived with a rattling sound when you open and close the door. Seems something is loose behind the light location (inside). Called customer service and waited, left v/mail but no response. That was 2 weeks ago. It works perfectly except our brand new profile microwave rattles like some cheap tin can.

So far we are thrilled with our GE profile microwave. It replaced our Dacor which we had for only 3 years. The installation was easy but it took a bit of work to fill in the opening of the old Dacor. But the trim kit and an extra strip of wood, made it work. Love the large opening and the controls are easy.

This is one of the ™better™ microwaves that GE sells yet there is NO SOUND CONTROL BUTTON! The beeps are pretty loud. In addition, this unit has the child safety lock feature which is inconvenient when installed on a higher up location where children cannot reach it. Also - it was installed along with the matching trim kit, and the only way to deactivate the child lock feature is to access the SIDE of the microwave - which we can™™t access. Don™™t know if simply pulling off the trim kit framing would allow access or not - either way it™™s ridiculous that you have to access the button in this manner.

INSTALL: Instructions are clear, easy to follow & install. PERFORMANCE: Good - quiet, compared to 20-yr old GE Profile; Not so good - dark grey interior makes it very difficult to see inside when item is cooking. CONTROLS: Auto-LOCK on door is inconvenient for adult house, fortunately easy to disable. Only 1 day of usage, have not used many controls. TRIM KIT: You need it for built-in install (old one will not fit new microwave) BUT it is a piece of junk AND a bad install compared to old product. It™™s cheap thin plastic (™stainless steel™ coating, not metal) & screws were too short for attaching trim plate to microwave & aluminum screws would not adhere to screwdriver blade to guide screw into hole. It took over an hour to put in 4 screws - STUPID engineering! CONCLUSION: I hope microwave is better quality than trim plate. Microwave is about half the weight of the old GE Profile, Trim Plate was about 10% of the weight of the old one. New trim plate is cheap plastic, waaaay overpriced!

We received this microwave after our first one, 3 years old, threw sparks and smoke. This microwave is average to below average. The WiFi does not update the clock and it weirdly locks and won™™t open unless a 2nd button is pushed on the control panel. Not happy with GE. The 1st microwave died and GE said, in essence, too bad it™™s just a shade over 3 years old so we had to buy another at a fraction off the original price. Then we were forced by GE to purchase a trim kit. The GE retained installer asked why we bought a trim kit we didn™™t need. After being a 30 year customer we won™™t buy GE again. Horrible.

Hoping This One Works Better Than Its Predecessors

This microwave oven is a replacement for the previous model, the GE Profile PEB7227ANDD. The first ANDD model died after six years and the replacement ANDD model we bought for it in July 2024 died in May 2026. Both failures were due to the magnetron's failure. I'd buy a different brand but since we're thinking of selling our house soon, I need to keep the oven as a match for the rest of the appliances and the trim for the oven itself. I'm hoping that this new model, the PCWK22U1WDD, is better manufactured and longer lasting than the two previous GE ovens I've had. When it works, the oven works well and heats evenly, provides consistent power with predictable results. I just can't predict the reliability, based on my past experience. Fingers crossed that GE has fired some people, either for bad designs or bad manufacturing practices.

I like the look of the microwave and the fact that it fits in the cabinet where my old Kitchen Aid one was. And I like that is seems larger. I do not like that you have to press "cancel" before you can open the door once it has finished heating something. The fact that it dings to tell you the food is done, should allow you to open the door. I haven't had a microwave with this feature and it non-intuitive. And, I did not notice it the first few days, but there is a non-food smell when it's running. Is that dangerous?

The capacity and controls are fine, and the performance is fine overall for warming food. Surprisingly, if you intend to pop popcorn, you'll need to explicitly adjust the power level otherwise the factory set "popcorn" setting will either undercook or burn your popcorn. The installation of the microwave itself is straightforward, but the trim kit requires patience. The design makes installation harder than it has to be due to the final steps where you have to insert small screws into awkward locations to connect the trim to the cabinet. Also be warned: Compared to the GE in-cabinet microwave trim kits of 10years ago, this one is mostly plastic (vs. mostly metal).

Moved into a brand new house with this new microwave installed. Noticed the inside cabinet light was not working and to replace it you have to remove the microwave from its cabinet mounting and take it apart to replace the bulb. Not an easy job and will most likely require a service call to replace it. My previous microwaves has a bulb that was very easy to replace without having to disassemble the microwave.

My husband and I bought a new build home that came with this brand new microwave. At our inspection /initial walk-thru before closing, the microwave was found to be super loud and rattling, so the builder swapped it out with another new one. Now just a few months after closing, I™™m having to schedule service because the microwave keeps blowing the electric circuit despite having a dedicated circuit!!! It happens about every 2nd or third time we use it. Ridiculous. Also not a fan of having to ™unlock™ my microwave when it™™s done cooking to open the door and remove food. Very disappointing overall

We had the prior model / version of this exact new GE Profile model, but certain buttons were beginning to short and not work. The new one fits perfectly in the spot of the old microwave with the same trim and dimensions. However, this new version is actually louder than the old model, but what we are most disappointed in is the fact that it doesn't have a mute button. Who doesn't a new model have a mute button? It has a Wi-Fi button in the spot of the prior mute button, but who uses Wi-Fi with a microwave?

Delivery was on time as scheduled. The microwave was in perfect shape. The microwave.was installed using the old mounting bracket everything went smoothly. The only problem was that the new unit bottom was different from the old unit bottom so there we had to adjust the mounting bracket slightly. The microwave itself worked exactly as described in the documentation . It™™s been working well for more than a week. No problems at all.

This microwave has a very large cooking area. It heats evenly and cooks quickly! We are able to shorten the cooking time on nearly everything we use it for. It has great features and we love cooking with it! There are, though, two drawbacks. The first one is minor but annoying. The door. The door has no handle so it must be pushed closed resulting in fingerprints. We are constantly wiping it off. You also can't ease the door shut without a handle. I wouldn't have even subtracted one star for this, though. The other downside - the one that cost GE 2 stars - is the fact that we had to buy this microwave to replace a 3 year old version of the exact same model that died unexpectedly. We bought it again A) because when it works it is fantastic, B) it matches the other GE appliances in our new (3 year old) house, and C) we were able to reuse the trim kit from the old microwave, which saved us a couple hundred dollars. Not happy about having to buy it again, but hopefully it will last a lot longer this time.

We were searching for a microwave that could be mounted in a kitchen cabinet, to replace one that was failing. Our old one had the worst user interface possible involving six or seven taps and swipes just to get it to run for two minutes, so the user interface on this one seems like heaven. That said, the "Time Cook" button is small and right next to the "Timer" button. It is very easy to mix them up. The defrost function takes longer than I am used to (9 minutes for a pound of ground beef), but maybe that is a good thing since that makes it is less likely to start cooking the meat. The overall cooking power is good, about 1100 watts. Cosmetically the glossy surface of the door and control panel is a real fingerprint magnet. There is a WiFi function that I haven't tried -- I can't imagine what that might be useful for.

At first, I found an annoying feature where the GE Profile microwave door would always lock. Even after cooking was finished, you had to press two buttons to unlock and open the door... every time. After I raised the issue with GE, I was told to refer to page 17 of the manual to turn off the feature by pressing 7 - 9 - 0, and it worked. Great! If you add the trim kit, this product matches perfectly with the GE 27" Smart Built-In Convection Single Wall Oven (also stainless steel and dark gray). The microwave cooks food well, and the capacity is spacious. I measured properly, so installation was easy. If the development team could offer a 24-hour clock option, that enhancement could be a really easy & inexpensive product improvement.

The product itself is great, except for the fact I'm now replacing it a second time in 6 years. Seems like every 3 years the magnetron fails, unless that's truly a microwaves lifespan which I find hard to believe. Replacements don't come easy as it's built in above our stove with a specific trim kit.

I do like my new microwave; however, I liked the one just like it that was purchased with our newly built home in February of 2023. This microwave had to be replaced because the magnetron failed. The installation service was fantastic. The controls are a little bit annoying. I have to choose preset times for cooking rather than just keying in the hours or minutes or what I want to do. And I absolutely dislike having to hit the cancel button to open the door. For me, that™™s a waste of my energy. I love the size of the microwave. The color works nicely in my house, but if I had it to do over, I would find a way to get a microwave with better controls. Thank you for asking.

This microwave replaces a unit that was installed in our home since 2018. The previous microwave still works but the interior coating is broken and causes hot spots or sparking so I™™m replacing it with a similar model. I expect similar long lasting service but am disappointed that volume control was removed for wifi. The main gripe I have is with the design of the shipping container that allowed the unit to become damaged thats visible from the interior. It™™s visually unappealing but not enough to initiate a return.

This microwave fits our need perfectly. It has pre-programmed buttons for "beverage", "reheat", "melt/soften", "defrost", "pizza", "popcorn", "potato",and "vegetable". It works great. It also has a child safety lock that may be programmed off with a code. It works great and I would highly recommend and yes, I'd purchase again.

Overall great built-in microwave. Love the dark gray interior which makes it look more premium. Works well at heating food. Two suggestions: - Add a button to mute or lower the beep volume. Though on this model the beeps are inoffensive and don™™t bother me as much as other microwaves. - Make a quiet close door. Closing the door is louder than expected.
